Valley East / Capreol

Single-family bungalows and two level homes form the majority of neighbourhoods, in the Valley East area, as well as a newly constructed senior citizens centre. Valley East features a number of amenities; including three major grocers and two malls. It boasts a recreation facility with a five lane, 25-metre swimming pool, an indoor track, squash courts, community hall and cafeteria, and the local library doubles as a citizen service centre, where clients can get permits and licenses.
There are a number of lakes in the region where residents can enjoy swimming and fishing. Capreol is home of the Canadian National Railway. In town, the Northern Ontario Railway Museum and Heritage Centre on 26 Bloor St., promotes the preservation of the railway, lumbering and mining industries.
